Traditional Hardware Made to Order
Hardware is often one of the smallest elements within a building, yet it is also one of the details people interact with most frequently. A hinge, latch, lock, or handle may be used hundreds of times a day, and its quality becomes apparent very quickly.
Many of the patterns I produce are based on examples I have studied in historic buildings, museums, and private collections. Others are adapted to suit the needs of a particular project.
Everything is made to order and can be modified to fit individual requirements. Whether the goal is historical accuracy, architectural consistency, or simply obtaining something made with greater care and durability than modern alternatives, I enjoy helping clients find the right solution.

few examples of various chest hinges. 16ga - 1/8" thick depending on length Please specify the length from the barrel to the end of the strap. Typically this is 6" - 14" and about half of the width of the chest lid. There is an angle on the back piece allowing it to mount on the inside of the chest. Nails and screws made to look like period screws are included. Nails are 2" long to allow for clinching, screws are 5/8" long - please specify if another length is required.
These hinges were traditionally used for cabinets, the largest ones on small doors. 16ga, forge welded with 3 knuckle hinges. Mounting Nails or screws Included for 3/4" boards.
These small hinges mount on the inside of wooden case, box or cabinet, so the only exposed portion is the barrel. Width is 1-1/4" Please provide the thickness of material so the offset can be spaced accordingly. Filed counter-sunk slotted mounting screws included.
